This summer, during a challenging period for tourism caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Dubrovnik gets a luxury 5-star lifestyle hotel, widely known for its hospitality and selected gastronomic offer.

The luxurious Rixos Premium Dubrovnik hotel is a 5-star ranked property which proudly stands as one of only eight Rixos Premium hotels in the world. It has opened its doors after seven months of intensive renovation worth more than 150 million kunas. This renovation is also the largest investment in Dubrovnik tourism this year, which was successfully realized despite the challenges posed to the tourism sector by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

“We have recognized a strong potential and exceptional position of the hotel 16 years ago, for which I can proudly say today stands as one of the most luxurious hotels in Croatia. I am also convinced that with this valuable investment we are contributing to increasing the tourism offer of the city of Dubrovnik and the development for the entire destination, despite poor forecast for this tourist season as a result of the global pandemic. The first guests have already started to arrive and I am sure that we will justify their expectations greatly”, said the director of the hotel Mr. Ayhan Basci, who has been living in Dubrovnik for the last 13 years and has been in Dubrovnik’s Rixos hotel since its opening in 2007.

The result of the investment is a completely renovated hotel with 310 luxury rooms - 190 superior rooms, 10 deluxe rooms, 55 standard rooms, 37 classic rooms, 17 suites and one presidential suite. All public areas including hotel reception, lobby bar with terrace, main hotel restaurant with terrace, all corridors and elevators, balconies and terraces of hotel rooms, while spa & wellness and fitness & gym offer have been enriched. In addition, the Anjana Spa which spreads over two floors has been completely renovated and with an area of 2,000 m2 it offers various massages and body & mind treatments. The offer also includes an original hammam (Turkish bath) that is unique in the hotel offer of Dubrovnik city, a spacious indoor pool with a relax zone and an outdoor pool on the hotel beach. “Taking into account the tradition, heritage and importance of the location for the locals, outlets of the hotel were named Libertas: Libertas bar & terrace, as well as the al fresco Libertas fish restaurant. We know very well what Libertas means to the people of Dubrovnik and that is why we want to continue to upgrade the hotel, so it will be the pride of the whole region. New generations can create their memories here”, said Mrs. Sandra Urlić, Director of Sales.

Rixos Premium Dubrovnik currently employs 130 full-time employees who possess great international experience in luxury hotels and restaurants, while more than half of them are domestic employees. Despite the challenges posed to the company by the Covid-19 situation, all jobs have been retained. The hotel management is very proud of their multicultural staff that is filled with positive emotions that grow from such an inspiring work environment, while respecting Dubrovnik’s rich tradition and history.
