1969, a year of radical change around the world as well as at Bally – The Janelle buckle debuted, introducing a striking statement on a pair of patent leather loafers. Modern and graphic, the buckle was featured on one of Bally’s renowned advertising posters marked by an image of a single leg, decorated with a pink bow and bearing the buckled pump. It was Bally’s gift to women’s shoes.

Inspired by Bally’s treasure trove of archive buckles – especially the oversized square style that was popular in the late 1960’s – the Janelle buckle was reintroduced in 2015 and has quickly become a house signifier, growing a fan base among Bally’s clients. In Autumn Winter 2017, its’ construction was updated in a babouche form, creating a versatile shoe that can be worn both traditionally or with the heel flattened for a mule-effect.

For Spring 2019, Bally’s iconic shoe collection is accompanied by the new Janelle Bag with a strong rectangular shape and famous buckle closure. The perfect shoulder accessory to dress up your babouche by day or an elegant clutch by night. The Janelle shoe selection evolves too with the peep toe Janaya mule in flat or 55mm heel variations and the 85mm heeled Jayde boot with side buckle and open toe. New season derivations and updates on classic styles are also available globally.
